"This book should be read by every manager everywhere."

Dear Major Brasseur,
I feel thrilled that yesterday l bought myself a new dress! This was no ordinary clothing purchase. Yesterday was Day 22 in my 'Achieve It' Journal and that dress is my reward for focusing on goals and keeping that journal for 21 days.
On April 30th I heard you speak at the OHA Conference for Executive Secretaries and Administrative Assistant at the Delta Hotel in Toronto. I found your presentation particularly relevant and meaningful and appreciate very much all that you shared with us. I bought your Book 'Achieve It' and began my journal on May 2nd.
My first two contacts were family members, then on May 4th I began asking people at work to give me their definitions and examples of goals. On May 8th a fellow employee came to me and asked if I'd been given a definition and goal for that day yet when l said no, she asked if she could tell me hers. The project created quite a buzz - I had phone calls asking me to explain what I was doing and those inquiring gladly participated. Then I expanded to include my friends and fellow Toastmasters and all of these contacts resulted in very interesting, animated conversations - the best we’ve had for a long time. People were ready for me when I contacted them, saying “oh I heard you were doing this”. As for the daily references to goals in newspapers, magazines, conversations, books and TV - I am absolutely amazed at how often each day I got those references. One friend told me I had triggered my reticular activating system - the part of my brain which now prompts a programmed awareness of goals!
The whole process has been enormously interesting and fun. Now I am focused to keep it going. I have come to realize that we all have wonderful and very different goals and that with our commitment to those goals, we can all succeed.
My job will soon change as a result of our hospital’s amalgamation, but as you said ‘change - that’s what life is”. In fact my goal is to be a facilitator/corporate trainer rather than an executive assistant and encouraged by your presentation and your book, I have renewed enthusiasm to pursue it - and Achieve It!
With sincere thanks,
